Populace Threads is a team, an ethos, a dream and a marketplace.  We are determined to build a digital platform that makes its easy for consumers, like you and me, to create style and embrace fashion, without jeopardising the planet.  Clothing and other textiles make up approximately 7% of global landfill. To put that into perspective, that's around 92million tonnes of textile waste each year going into landfill,  and because so much of this clothing contains plastics (hello polyester), it's landfill that doesn't break down easily or quickly, leading to long term impact on the planet. That's why we're building Populace Threads - because like you: 

• We want to keep clothing in circulation and out of landfill for as long as possible.

• We want it to be easier to clean out your closet and have options for where the things you no longer want or wear can go.

• We want to make some money out of the assets in our wardrobes that we no longer wear, but we think others would love.

• We want to be able to create our own style and have fun with it, without it breaking our budget.

• We want to give away some of the 'stuff' in our wardrobe because we actually don't need it anymore, but someone else might.
